“… At first, there were 264 rai of land given by the village headman to build a palace in 1979 at the foot of Khao Hin Sorn near Wat Khao Hin Sorn. At first, you have to research where that place is. tried to inquire was found on the map exactly in the upper corner of the map Therefore, we have to connect 4 different maps in order to know where the place is, so I asked the perSorn who gave it. If not building a palace But will it be built as a place to study agriculture? He said he was happy, so he started doing it there… ”
Subsequently, the people bowed to His Majesty the King Consecrated an additional 497 rai of land, along with the land around the Arboretum and Botanical Garden. and has bought the land adjacent to the center Additional to create a private development project, Khao Hin Sorn, an area of 655 rai, the total area of 1,895 rai of the center, was graciously named ” Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Center “. Climate

Summer  is sweltering on some days. Sometimes there may be summer storms characterized by thunderstorms and strong winds. The average maximum temperature is between 35-38 degrees Celsius.

In the rainy seaSorn , the southwest monsoon prevails. In addition, there is a low pressure trough across the central and eastern regions. causing almost widespread thundershowers and heavy rainfall in some areas. Average rainfall is 1,200-1,400 millimeters per year.

Hydrology and water resources

Water sources generally used for consumption, especially in agriculture, come from three sources:

          (1) Water sources from the air, such as rain, humidity, etc.

          (2) Surface water sources include water in creeks, swamps, canals, marshes, rivers, and reservoirs.

          (3) Groundwater sources such as groundwater

There are two main sources of water in this project area, namely 1) from natural rainwater sources. which has been discussed in the topic of climate and 2) surface water sources In the project, there are two important surface water sources, namely water from the creek and water from reservoirs in the Joan Basin and its branches. In which the area on the south side of this project has a river that runs through and has a creek that is a tributary of the river that runs through the middle of the project area.

Within the project area of the Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Center Water sources can be divided into different types as follows:

The reservoir has a reservoir of five consisting of reservoir watershed, Joan, of which 10.1 ( reservoir Sumrongnua the lower of: 1) Reservoir watershed Joan of 10.2 ( reservoir Sumrongnua the lower of the two) reservoir basin Joan, of which 12 ( Creek Reservoir. Jek) 13th Joan Basin Reservoir ( Huay Yak Reservoir 1) and Joan Basin Reservoir 14 ( Huay Yak Reservoir 2)

Wells are mostly caused by digging out the soil to make a dam to build a reservoir. And make a road within the center’s project that in the rainy seaSorn there will be a lot of water trapped. When it comes to the dry seaSorn, there will be very little water left. Some places have no water left at all. A total of six wells are located in the Department of Livestock Development and Agrarian. Middle two wells LDD 1 wells Agricultural College Abbottabad 1 wells are privately owned area within the center’s other two wells.

There are seven reservoirs currently excavated , each with an embankment built around the reservoir to allow large volumes of water to be stored. Some pools have cement poured next to the perimeter of the pool, others don’t pour cement. And there is one that uses plastic flooring to make a pond to prevent water from seeping into the ground.

Huai The survey area has a total of 4 creeks, namely Huai Nam Chon, Huai Samrong Nuea, Huai Samrong Tai, and Huai Chek. These creeks only have water during the rainy seaSorn. In the dry seaSorn, the water does not flow. and the water in the creek is mostly dry There are only some episodes that still have a little water in them.

irrigation canal which delivers water from the reservoir to the agricultural area within the center’s project mostly, which currently has a total of 9 lines.

Water pipes, which carry water through pipes buried under the soil surface. From the 8th Upper Huai Samrong Reservoir to both the left and right banks of Huai Samrong Nuea and Huai Samrong Reservoir in the lower North to the agricultural area All water sources in the project area Although the quantity is quite large But in the dry seaSorn, there is often a problem of water shortage and cannot be used for planting or farming.

Water conditions and water resources around the Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Center

Water resources in the area of Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Center

soil condition

The area of the center Khao Hin Sorn and Associate Villages Most of them are undulating and undulating, with the northern part of the project being a hillside slope next to Khao Hin Sorn. It is granite and is a soil origin material which makes the soil in this area mostly mixed with sand particles. Granite sand particles are mostly coarse sand particles.

Soil in the area of Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Center There were 3 main soil series found, namely, Map Bon soil series, Sattahip soil series, and Khok Khian soil series.

Soil resource problems found in the Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Center area are as follows:

1) The soil has low fertility and is divided into 2 areas:

– Soils with low fertility in lowland areas such as areas classified as Khok Khian soil series. The condition of the area is flat to relatively smooth, with a slope of 0-2 percent.

– Soils with low fertility in upland areas, such as areas classified as the Mabbon soil series. The soil is similar to the Mabbon soil series but has a coarse loam texture. The soil is similar to the Mapbon soil series but has a dotted point. The soil is similar to the Mabbon soil series but has a coarse loam soil texture and a dotted point. The soil is similar to the Mabbon soil series but has a clay texture. The condition of the area is quite smooth to slightly undulating with a slope of 1-5 percent.

2) Sandy soils are classified areas. It’s a Sattahip soil set. The condition of the area is quite smooth to slightly undulating with a slope of 1-5 percent.

3) The problem of risk of soil erosion Usually found in areas with slopes of 2-5 percent, especially areas without ground cover cultivation. not a forest area or without proper soil and water conservation soil erosion in the center Mainly caused by water erosion

4) Outcrop rocky land, namely the area around Khao Hin Sorn with a slope of 2-5 percent. Covering an area of more than 90 percent, it is not suitable for use in agriculture.

                5) Steep areas, including Khao Hin Sorn, are mostly planted forest areas. Has a slope of more than 35 percent from the condition of the area with high slopes therefore difficult to manage It is preserved for agriculture, therefore it is not suitable for use in agriculture. to maintain a proper ecosystem.

General land use condition of the project In the past, it had deteriorated like a desert. unable to farm soil lacking fertility sandy soil There is high soil erosion. A single plant is cultivated. (cassava) for a long time without soil improvement, The crop yields have been low. After that, development was initiated according to various royal initiatives related to soil, water, and forest development, starting with surveying the problems of the area. build a reservoir After developing some water, they began to grow crops and raise fish in the lowlands. On the hillsides were grazing, grazing, fruit trees, and forests. Raising livestock, planting grass and trees would improve the quality of the soil and eventually all the land would be used. Until now, soil, water and forest conditions have changed dramatically, and soil, water and forest resources are complementing each other until they become fertile. From the beginning, the plant was unable to grow. At present, various farms can be carried out.

Socioeconomic information of the project area

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej has bestowed guidelines for the development of the Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Center. to be the perfect agricultural center for water resources development Forest rehabilitation, soil development, crop and animal husbandry planning by using methods that have already worked Accurate, economical and the most beneficial Let farmers and interested people come to study and learn to develop careers and farming areas. In addition, His Highness also gave guidelines for the development of the area around the Education Center. River basin area to prosper as an example for further development in other areas

Khao Hin Sorn Development Study Center has led the royal initiatives that have been given to him By expanding the body of knowledge that has been successfully transferred to the village area around the center by designating to be an expansion village around the center covering an area of 3 sub-districts in Phanom Sarakham District Chachoengsao Province (Map 4 and 5) consists of Khao Hin Sorn Subdistrict, Ban Sorng Subdistrict, and Koh Khanun Subdistrict. which has 43 villages, 12 villages, 403 households

When expanding the body of knowledge to farmers in the area, the operation is successful and the farmers are stable and ready to be a model of success from expanding results in the area for farmers or those who are interested to come and study. next, Therefore, the village learning center was established around the center. under the supervision of the Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Center
